 Computerisation
of INB: The automation of INB was achieved in June 2000 using Library
software with Graphic and Intelligence Based Script Technology (GIST), of
C-DAC; covering 14 Indian languages (except Urdu) in Roman script with
diacritical marks and Urdu records are entered through Devnagri script.
Efforts are on for the continuous improvement of the system. The existing
Library software has been upgraded now with UNICODE for entering Indian
languages, thereby compilation of Language bibliographies also made
possible. Urdu records are now entered in Urdu script but conversion to
Roman Script is yet to be evolved.
