MODERNISATION

The compilation and generation of the Indian National Bibliography is fully automated since June 2000. The Different Indian Languages are entered in their respective languages through CDAC GIST terminals. It is converted into Roman Script with diacritical marks to generate the General bibliography. Initially the whole process was very cumbersome but gradually the CRL

staff  acquired sufficient confidence to overcome all hardships. For the generation of INB customized version of Libsys 4.0 software is used. Since June 2000 all the monthly issues of INB has been published regularly. Every monthly volume is released by next month. The punctuality of INB has been very much revived.
