Under this programme Post graduate Library Science Students of different Indian Universities are imparted training in the compilation of bibliographies by manual process and by machine generation in different language scripts at CRL Kolkata, So far 44 batches of student from the universities of Calcutta, Jadavpur, Burdawan, Kalyani, Gauhati, Bhagalpur (Bihar), Utkal, Sambalpur (Orissa), Calicut; Aligarh Muslim University, Madurai Kamraj university, NEHU, Shillong, availed this facility. We are receiving constant enquires from different universities which we are not able to meet to in sufficient space and machines. The trainees are provided with stipend in an added attraction. This is also a continuing programme which involves practice in classification, cataloguing, compilation , editing , directory creation and data entry in language scripts. The last batch of the Apprenticeship Training Programme completed on 31st March 2010 during the last financial year 2009-2010. It is expected that the ensuing batch will start from July 2010 depending upon the approval of the Ministry of Culture.
